The mat works great at keeping spilled red wine off my tablecloths. Because of the rim, I was able to lift it with wine in it and carry it to the sink without spilling a drop...very cool! And as an extra added bonus, no watermarks on the tablecloths when we used our water pitcher the other night. Stopped the running drips cold!
Donna and I have used these mats in several circumstances. The most obvious are to protect wood when eating or with cold beverages. They keep plates and glasses from sliding around on the boat and contain any liquid that might spill or condense. I also use a mat to hold tools and parts when working on the various systems. It protects surfaces from grease and other “gunk” as well as keeping items from sliding away. This is really valuable on a rolling boat. They clean very easily as well.
